Tech Term of the Month - May 2025: Mobile Data

Mobile data is what lets you access the internet on your smartphone when not connected to a WiFi network. Most mobile carriers offer plans with either certain amounts of data you can use in a given month, or an unlimited plan that lets you use as much as you want.
With mobile data, you can use Google Maps while driving, stream music while out and about, send messages on social media apps, and more. Keep in mind that while many carriers offer unlimited data, some may slow the internet speed to your device after you use a certain amount. Check the details of your data plan to make sure you know how much you can use.
