What is a Cooperative?
BCT is a member owned company that delivers a variety of telecommunication services to our members. Being a member owned Cooperative means that the money paid by our members for the communication services we offer, is in return utilized for the maintenance of facilities, and to assist in the repayment of long term debt for those services. This money is considered capital furnished by members. Since this is capital that will be returned to members at a later date, we refer to this as “capital credit”.
What are Capital Credits?
Money paid by BCT members for communication services is used to maintain facilities needed to serve members. The revenue collected will also be applied to pay down long term debt for those communication services provided. This money is considered capital furnished by members and will be returned to members at a later date and is referred to as “capital credit”.
When are Capital Credits refunded?
Capital Credits are refunded at the discretion of the Board of Directors when the Board determines that the financial condition of the Cooperative will not be impaired.
